Redwing was originally built in 1923 in the San Mateo area. It was and still is a California “Spanish style” home with Spanish tile roof and a sitting room with large dark beams and a fireplace. We left the main front room and the street facing façade intact as much as possible. We added square footage and gutted everything to the studs. Some projects really come together beautifully, and this is one of them. We kept as many original details as possible and worked to create a modern version of this Spanish beauty. We rebuilt the garage and included an outdoor bar seating area with a barbeque, a fridge, and a television so the family could watch baseball and enjoy the beautiful weather.
